@theskumar - any chance of this PR being reviewed? Without this fix, I have a hard time imagining use cases for this extension, which would be unfortunate because of how useful it could be!

After trying to contact the maintainer and getting no response, I've forked the repo and published on pypi. I plan to actively maintain this, but would happily archive if this repo becomes active again.
