Some Unavoidable Changes

Hello all. I've unexpectedly run into some bigger, more existensial, issues with l2p. A week ago I received what I would call a "friendly pre cease & desist", asking me to make some changes on how locast2plex connects to Plex. I did quite a bit of soul-searching to figure out the best way to figure out how to proceed (should I fight this? how would I work around this?). Ultimately, I believe we can work this out and the changes will not interfere with function (although there may be some slight changes with setup).

In detail, the changes are as follows:

  • Enable a m3u playlist interface and XMLTV for Emby, Jellyfin and others (maybe we can get Kodi working too)
  • Use a different method to connect to Plex

Now thankfully some of the work is already done, and I have a few friends that are helping with some of the other details. However, I am more concerned about those that have forked from this project. In this case, I want to keep everyone posted about when we update with the corrections and I strongly encourage all who forked to pull all the changes.

Let me know if you need any extra help testing.

In my repos, I've removed all direct references to "Silicondust" and "HDhomerun", I've also since created an easy to use m3u playlist system

Nice @deathbybandaid! Would it be all right if I used your m3u generation code?

I have a wtfpl license for a reason, go for it! "You can probably adapt the locast2plex template system to do it though, my system generates a real file for everything.

Hello all just to double confirm here -- release 0.6.x has addressed this issue. For anyone who has copies of the repo -- please update to 0.6.x for the "less troublesome" code.

Thanks everyone!
