Is this project dead?
There hasn't been a commit in over a year. I would love it if this project got traction from other contributors if the original author doesn't have any time/effort to continue the project. Unfortunately I don't know Swift (and thus SwiftUI) so I can't help development wise.
Hi @arjpar, well, it's definitely stagnant for the moment. I'd love to contribute more on it, and I would have some time, but the thing is, I feel there needs be more interest in general for it.
Would you like to use SweetIRC? As a user, I mean.
Of course I would love to use it as a user! I think there is a space for a high quality, modern macOS IRCv3 client. Currently Textual (paid) is dead, Colloquy is dead, LimeChat is dead. (These are all the "modern" IRC clients for macOS). The only IRC desktop clients that are actively developed are cross platform (which is fine) including electron apps (which very much has its downsides).
I believe the benefit of using SwiftUI would also be easy porting to iOS/iPadOS.
One thing that could help the adoption of SweetIRC would be adding it to Homebrew Casks. I can definitely do that, but I believe SweetIRC would have to meet certain requirements first.
