Update only minor releaeses

Hello,

after the release of phpMyAdmin 5.0, many of my installations are broken, because the update-script updated directly from 4.9.x to 5.0. Is it possible to allow only minor updates instead of major updates or do I have to build my own version-webpage (instead of https://www.phpmyadmin.net/home_page/version.php) and use this in the update-script config?
