Would this enhancement need advanced Parallel & Concurrent Haskell knowledge?

I had skimmed through Parallel & Concurrent programming in Haskell a while back for some work related thing. Wanted to go back and try to understand and actually put some of that stuff to use, if possible. This seems like a good opportunity for that, if you don't have a strict timeline/deadline for this to be done.
