fails when cloning https://github.com/emacsmirror/mode-compile/

I got a 404 error when opening that url.

I tried to install cabbage and got this if you do not get it then I guess it is my machine

Yes that url is included in the .gitmodules. But the project hasn't been updated for a long time.

@NikolaMandic sadly the repository in question has been removed from GitHub and I wasn't able to find a replacement.

As @jiegec has pointed out, this project wasn't updated in a long time. I since moved back to using a personal configuration.
