A green line (stashed window) appears on 2nd monitor on connection.

Hi Ryan.

A bug report. I've noticed when I connect a second monitor to my MacBook Pro M3, which is aligned above my laptop monitor, coloured line representing a fake stashed item appears at the bottom edge of the second display. When I use a hotkey to unstash, it disappears. This has been happening for a few months.

Have you ever thought about redesigning the coloured line Indicator? It is quite thick and a bit distracting even on a retina display. Perhaps it could be thinner or even, a small rectangle to the edge of the screen that has the name of the app.

Keep up the good work. Thanks. Stuart

Thanks for letting me know. Sounds like a bug where a window on the laptop monitor is being misinterpreted as a stashed window. I'll see what I can do.

You can modify the size of the color tab with the following Terminal command:

defaults write com.knollsoft.Hookshot stashTabSize -float 4

Restart the app after. The default value is 8.

It's on my backlog to add app names or window names and icons in an elegant way.

I wasn't able to get it to work. But I notice the command isn't listed on the Pro or Rectangle regular github.

Do we need to add Hookshot?

com.knollsoft.Hookshot. ?

Cheers

Ah, yes, sorry for that typo!

All working, thanks.

And yes, that's much improved.

I've been going back through old bugs and I realized I didn't update this one. I wasn't able to reproduce the color tab bug when connecting a monitor that is oriented above or below another. Is this still an issue?

Hi Ryan.

Yes indeed. On M3 16" MBP it has a purple line whenever I connect a veruy standard 1080p Hp monitor, orientated above my laptop. Seems to only happen when the monitor is configured to be above the display, and is triggered by my unplugging and replugging the HDMI cable.

Thanks, I'll take another look for the next release.
