Other ways to phrase this question might be: "What decisions will the board vote on?" or "What purpose is there to being a board member?"

The board is mentioned frequently in the FAQ, but there is no mention of what purpose the board even serves. What sort of decisions will the board members vote on? Why would anyone be interested in being a board member?
