Is feedvalidator.org dead?

There’s just a domain parking page there now.

My hosting provider doesn't permit long running tasks, so this was running for a number of years as a relatively inefficient CGI. Periodically, it would attract a DOS attack, and the hosting provider would take the service down to protect other users assigned to the same machine. Eventually, I stopped resurrecting it.

Ah. Thanks for explaining.

  1. Just to clarify, I take it you’re saying you have no intention to resume resurrecting it (or otherwise return it to operation)?

  2. Do you know what’s running at https://validator.w3.org/feed/? Is that de facto the successor to feedvalidator.org or is that its own unaffiliated thing?

fwiw, https://validator.w3.org/feed/ is run by W3C based on a fork of this repo with a few fixes / changes maintained in https://github.com/w3c/feedvalidator/

The Feed Validator is back online at https://www.feedvalidator.org/, so this issue is being closed.
