I think I'm going to need more than just the last line of .evernote-mode.log. Can you try to include a whole stack trace?
Is there a chance either of you could create a text file that triggers the bug? That would give me a place to start.

I've never used RVM, so my guess is that there are missing environment variables. You might have to set them manually in your .emacs.el file. On Wed Feb 11 2015...
Try upgrading to Ruby 1.9 to see if that solves the problem.
Did you configure `evernote-developer-token` yet?
