Search text field not showing search text

Expected behavior:

Search text to be shown

Actual behavior:

Search text is mangled

Detailed steps to reproduce:

Open PyFa (AppImage) Enter search text into Fittings tab Check search text is displayed

There's been some reports that the GUI is janky in linux... unfortunately I can't reproduce with my tests, and I have no idea what the issue might even be.
