Currently the PIA desktop client does not play well with Tailscale, in theory there's nothing which should cause conflict between them because Tailscale doesn't handle rerouting the entire network, it just handles a small part of the private IP address space.

When Tailscale is active PIA fails to make a connection, it would be nice to have them both work simultaneously.
