Ability to change button name after adding context

Currently there is now way to update text displayed on button after adding some dropdown context.

I'm afraid I don't understand what you mean. Can you give an example of what you are trying to achieve?

I would like to be able to have a script that can update text diplayed on panel's button without refreshing whole script. This is text that is normally set as first string before "\n---".

Update as part of the timed refresh cycle, or in reaction to the user clicking an item?

Well, I would imagined it as being intependant, ie happening via some prefabricated-formatted output.
