i tried pretty hard to make dependencies easy. if you wanna go into details maybe i can help. you should also be able to completely remove libhandy with `cmake -DUSE_LIBHANDY=OFF`...
fwiw, just installed pop 22.04 lts in a vm and built it just fine, though i guess libsecret-1-dev and libhandy-1-dev are missing from the readme. but both are still optional...
