The developer of an unofficial implementation of otel for julia is interested in making this work official, as part of a SIG.

First, thanks for putting forward this proposal. I'm Jun Tian, currently a software engineer working at Microsoft in Beijing. I've been using Julia intensively in the last three years after Julia@v1 was published and am familiar with the ecosystem in Julia. In the last several months, I've been watching the discussions in the OpenTelemetry org and studied the specification in detail. The above link is an attempt to implement the specification in Julia with my limited understanding. 😀

To call for more contributors, I created several announcements (English, Chinese, Twitter) just now. Hopefully, we'll have more potential contributors 💪

I am Siddharth Bhatia. I am a recent college graduate from India. I started using Julia a little over an year ago, and have known @findmyway since then.

I am new to open-telemetry. Looking forward to learning more and contributing to this project! 😄
