Cannot view read items

Open weverett opened this issue 10 years ago • 8 comments

Even with "show only unread articles" turned off I cannot see any unread articles. Even if I go to a particular feed whose content has all been marked as read there are no articles listed.

It looks like maybe it only downloads content that was unread when synced and then displays that? Is it the cast that anything that was read via the web news client doesn't get downloaded?

Can anyone else confirm this issue? How many unread articles do you have? If you have more then 2000 articles. All read articles will be deleted in order to improve the performance. By the performance improvements in the last version I think I can set the limit to 5000 or something like this.

I had 996 (I think). It's probably worth noting that this was a new install of the android app and so it had never downloaded the articles. They were just marked as read on my owncloud server already.

Ah yes of course than they will never be downloaded. But you can use the "Download more" option in a feed to download read items from the server.

@weverett Can this issue be closed now?

Sure. It seems like it's working as intended and it probably isn't terribly valuable to have the ability to load all the read items simultaneously.

I've got the same problem, but clicking on "Download more" doesn't do anything. I still only see items that were published after I've installed the app.

Also, there's no overview of all already read articles like OCReader does. Is this designed to work that way?

Same problem here - if I scroll past an item and it's marked as read, it's no longer possible to view it again unless I scroll back. If I close the app for whatever reason, viewing the read articles is no longer possible unless I use the web app to manually mark it as unread. Is this actually by design?
