Similar has been done recently for tomcat-native library. There the perf is on par with JNI code.

Does this work from the command line?

I don't understand why you are constantly showing some REST requests, but a proper issue isolation is to write a standalone, CLI application which depicts the problem.

This code won't even compile because there is a typo.
