Super Mario Advance 4 e-Reader Communication Error

It gives me an error with the communication with connecting SMA4 with the e-Reader. I have tried different mGBA emulators. No luck, even the latest releases won't do it. So far, the only mGBA that seems to work for e-Reader DLC for SMA4 is version 0.10.1.0. Could the latest release be updated to work for SMA4, or should I use the compatible version for that specific reason?

What OS or consoles are you using? Windows 11 0.10.3 works fine for ereader support.

Are you sure you have them as the right player? It definitely does work in newer mGBA.

What do you mean by right player?

The e-Reader must be one of player 1 or 2, I don't remember which. It won't work if it's the wrong one.

It's usually player two.
