React 16 support for version 1.4

We are using version 1.4 of this wonderful project of yours. It will be a lot of work recreating our project with version 2.x due to the change in API.

Is it posible to create version 1.4.1 form 1.4 to use create-react-class and prop-types?

I've seen a fair amount of people that want me to add support for React 16 on the v1 branch. I'll reconsider doing this as it has gained more traction. Thanks.
