Feature request: consistent copy-paste behaviour with block selections

When selecting a text block with Alt, copying then pasting it, it should be also pasted as a text block(inserting into the lines below) instead of being pasted as a single line.

Unfortunately I'm not actively maintaining this project at the moment, however I'm intending on completely redoing the text editing functionality so will keep this open as a reminder.

I'm interested in butchering editor for my own needs, so I'd like to tap into that. Or maybe viceversa.
