Bug: Makes AltGr 8 and 9 for "[" and "]" not working

Open MortenZdk opened this issue 7 years ago • 8 comments

When running VirtualDesktopManager, also in the background, then AltGr 8 and 9 stops working, thus I cant write "[" and "]" on my Danish keyboard.

Hey, had the same issue. Try ticking the box "use alt. key combinations" in Virtual Desktop Manager / Settings and restart VDM.

Cheers, Alex

Hi. Same problem here with an Spanish keyboard.

The default keyboard combinations make ALTgr useles so in my Spanish keyboard I cannot use AltGr+1 ("|"), AltGR+2 ("@"), AltGR+3 ("#") and so on. This makes impossible for me to use the app unless I change to Alt+Shift.

But I like the CTRL+ALT+LEFT and CTRL+ALT+RIGHT combinations, because these are the "typical" combinations in Linux's Window Managers, and I'm used to them so I don't really want to change to the alternate set.

Would it be possible to include a checkbox to "enable/disable" the Altgr+Number shortcut so that non-english keyboard users can use ctrl+alt and don't loose AltGR? Or allow to change it to Ctrl+Alt+Number...

Thanks.

Hello, I had the same issue "[" and "]" not working. But I fixed the problem. I opened the VDM settings menu and I hooked "Use alternate key combination (Shift+Alt+Left/Right)" . Then I restarted "VirtualDesktopManager" and AltGr 8 and 9 are working again (December 2019).

AltGr + 3 not working in Turkish Q keyboard

ridvanaltun avatar Feb 24 '20 13:02 ridvanaltun

I have the same issue at "Turkish Q keyboard" for AltGr + 3,4,.....8 are not working (also i dont have the desktop 3,4,5....8 - i have only desktop 1 and desktop 2 so in this case vdm won't hook these AltGr+3,4,5...8 keys )

It would be nice to have a configuration that would allow us to enable / disable the AltGr keys that we want.

I would be happy with AltGr-1, AltGr-2, AltGr-3 .. Others would probably be happy with -4, -5, -6 .. and so on.

"Blocking" all of them is a bit "greedy" ;)
