Warp is not working properly on OSX Lion (10.7)
I would love to see support for OSX Lion. It is pretty annoying that switching spaces is so complicated now. :)
Lion support would be great!
It still works in the first space.
Mission Control is such a f**ing regression… Warp was perfect on Snow, are you going to make it work on Lion ?
Please, could you fix warp for Lion? I was definitely used to it. Now it works only on first space when moving left to warp around ... :(
Will you please port Warp to OS X Lion? Also, I concur that Mission Control is a regression, unbelievable.
For those, who were used to warp over spaces using mouse over left or right egde with some modifier (f.e. CMD) pressed, there is happy news here. :) Thanx to opensource license and the fact that sources are available, I've made hotfixes to Kent's original code so that it's now running on Lion (with a few exceptions).
Here they are:
- as Lion doesn't support spaces in more than one row, I didn't focus on "more rows" fixes - so now Warp support only one line of spaces as Lion does (if you need more rows, try Shephen Sykes's Change Space project: https://github.com/sdsykes/Change-Space, I've also reused a few snippets of his code, but his version doesn't allow warping using a mouse - this is what I prefer, that's why I started fixing Warp)
- Warp now at first use circulate through all spaces to create map of IDs for all spaces, it happens only once after start
- also Stephen's way of changing Spaces has to do it differently for FIRST space (simulating a CTRL+1 keypress), so keypress with mouse move to warp to first space must be short and there is small delay there - check it out, but it's not too annoying
And finally - here is the Lion version of Warp, I've also increased a version number:

I hope Kent will not be angry for his work modifications. :)
Thanks for doing this. I don't think Kent will be angry, but why not submit a pull request with these changes?
I'd be happy to take a look at a pull request. I haven't had any time to look at how 10.7 handles spaces differently from 10.6, but if there's any code to review I'll make some time to look it over.
I've done a pull request, you can check it out ...
Thanks, it's on my list of things to do.
Thanks for keeping this wonderful helper alive! Today I had t switch to Lion for dying MobileMe and future sync compatability (Thank you Apple). As I was and still am a great fan of the "old" spaces style in a grid, I am running a program called "TotalSpaces" from binaryage to get this functionality back in Lion. Warp 1.3 is actually working great with this program, except for desktop #1, which you can leave but not re-enter. Might that be a easy fix u can provide, or would this be a complicated task?
cheers
I'm not sure when I'll have spare time to have a look at this problem (at least I don't use TotalSpaces yet). I'll put it on a list anyway ... Have you tried to re-enter it and gave you enough time to system to load Scripting Framework (sometimes it's up to 5 seconds !) until it's changed to destop #1 (but it takes such time only for the first time when framework is not in memory)?
Yes, I have tried to give it some time and re-entering. Unfortunately to no avail
I have found a solution! I had the command key set as my modifier key. But using the ctrl key instead works perfectly! So for everyone wanting the old spaces behaviour of SL back can get this with TotalSpaces and Warp 1.3. For me the only way to handle this on a MacPro with a "old" mouse. My MBP with the trackpad is a different story.
I just upgraded to Lion for the MobileMe/iCloud transition as well.
Kudos to branok for Warp 1.3. I am using TotalSpaces and Warp 1.3 and getting the behavior I want. There is a little window flash after some transitions but I can live with that (not sure if it is Apple or TotalSpaces or Warp providing that).
