chore: upgraded dependencies and resolved packages vulnerabilities

npm audit was showing 10 vulnerabilities (9 moderate, 1 high). This was fixed.

Also, older packages were upgraded. The tests are passing (with the exception of 1, but it's also failing in the master branch). I've manually tested the maximum possible in the UI and examples in the locally hosted website, and it's working.
