I want to press ctrl + Left key to navigate by words. So how to keep ctrl on
Just like caps lock when double pressed its on ,similarly is there any way that ctrl key will be on so that i can just press left arrow to navigate by words in the paragraph.
@sant527 : this works the same way as it works on a physical QWERTY keyboard - one finger holds down the Ctrl key, one finger taps the arrow key. On my device (Nokia 6), this results to caret moving by words, not characters.
then it will be difficult to operate by one hand.
@sant527 : you don't do that by one hand on physical keyboard either. To be honest, I'm glad it works at all and I don't see much sense in wanting it do by one hand. Also, having caps lock modify the arrow keys might be unwanted (but the setting could to enable this be there, yeah). Still, I see more pressing issues, like having F1-F12 keys in the extended 6th row and not having e.g. delete there...
This could be solved by having a 3-state Ctrl key. The third/sticky state could be toggled only by double-tapping the key, or in a normal rotation like shift on keyboards without caps lock. I would certainly appreciate this as well, as holding down keys doesn't work well with my tablet (the touchscreen has a grounding(?) issue that messes it up frequently)

Yes, I most certainly do. My keyboard has both a left and right control key, as do most others; using the right control key makes it easy to skip words with one hand, eg when fixing typos.
same goes with shift key. If you want to select something from terminal using Shift+Arrow, you need to hold shift key by one hand and then another hand for arrow. It reduces one handed operation.
It will be much more convenient if there is a mechanism for holding shift key without turning it into caps-lock.
@sk-Prime That's #405, which is obviously closely related to this issue.
We really do need CTRL and ALT to work like the shift key. I'd like to be able to enter key codes without having to keep pressing the ALT which I forget and ends up causing more time.
