Like web apps, we can use our zim files shortcuts. In this way, user can access their favorite zim files through App shortcuts without going through the app.

If the user go to zim files repeatly they can have shortcut in android with out going through app. It'll like favourite zim files from the home screen.

We can add a shortcut option in our zim file in app. Now we have two options if we long press the zim files i.e delete an share. There we can add a shortcut option. And then user can go to the shortcut zim file through home screen Android .

so the way bookmarks are shown, we show favorite zim files? and shortcut takes them directly to that fragment? or a user can only have 1 favorite zim file? (not sure if having 1 favorite will be good)

@cdhiraj40 No not one. It can be many. It depends on the user how many zim files they want in shortcuts.

Adding a list (or grid) of favourites on the home screen will be good, calling the option "Add a shortcut to Home"

@4shutosh I'm thinking like it'll place as normal app.If we add a new shortcut then we'll add next to last application icon. Like android do with application.

That reduces the scope of the number of shortcuts, a user can only have so many icons on the drawer, and also they'll be sorted again according to name. So again a menace to search the "shortcut".

All shortcuts together at one place will be the way to go here.

Also, there is a long press action for the app, we can explore that as well to show the most opened or favorite zim files.

@gouri-panda Looks good from the usability level…. But not sure if the ZIM provide the proper picture material to do such a pleasant icon shortcut.
