fails to build with Rust 1.12.0 / Cargo 0.13 (current stable)

This package fails to build with the current stable release of Rust due to crossbeam v0.1.6 being unable to build. The issue is a legitimate bug in crossbeam which looks to have been fixed in newer versions. Unfortunately they switched to v0.2.x versions. cargo-extras depends on cargo v0.6.1 which explicitly depends on v0.1.x of crossbeam. Newer versions of cargo depend on v0.2.x of crossbeam. The likely best path forward is to update cargo-extras to use a newer version cargo.

I need to update all these packages and am looking into whether or not cargo workspaces would help as well. Standby for updates soon :wink:
