Unexpected behaviour on O365 calendar

Open bertvandepoel opened this issue 3 years ago • 2 comments

Your environment

TbSync version: 3.0.2 Thunderbird version: 91.9.1

Expected behavior

I would expect that newly created events would show up on my other devices once the syncing period has passed.

Actual behavior

I'm using TbSync together with EAS-4-TbSync to sync my university's O365 calendar. Recently I noticed that an event I created on my desktop using Thunderbird didn't show up on my phone (using a read-only link from O365 to Google Calendar). I then later checked on my laptop and dind't see the event there either. I then created a test event on my laptop and manually synced that, but that also didn't seem to help. In the end I ended up opening my calendar on https://outlook.office365.com/calendar/view/month and then both events suddenly started working again. So I now see the initial event I created as well as a test event. They haven't shown up on my phone yet, but I'm not sure how frequently Google even polls that data.

Steps to reproduce

I'm not 100% sure what is triggering this problem. I fear Microsoft is doing something weird again.

I'm very willing to generate debug logs if you could give me instructions on what steps to take while the debug option is running. Do I simply create an event and manually trigger syncing, or should I wait for a period sync, or do something else entirely?

If I should file this issue under the EAS project instead of there, then feel free to let me know or move the bug (if the latter is even possible).
