Support for gnome 44?
+1
Gnome 44 has been out for a very long time. Has the developer abandoned the project?
What are some good alternatives to this extension?
+1 This looks like exactly what I need - I am particularly interested in the 'spotlight' option, if it works as I think it must it would be brilliant (if you'll pardon the expression) - but it does nothing on my gnome 44.1 even when version checking is disabled.
A comment for Jiggle on Gnome Extension Store by SteveGoodenough read:
As a workaround for 43 you can
- disable version check in gnome extensions (temp) with
gsettings set org.gnome.shell disable-extension-version-validation true- install jiggle
- edit ~/.local/share/gnome-shell/extensions/[email protected]/metadata.json and add 43.1 to the version list
- re-enable version check in gnome extensions (temp) with
gsettings set org.gnome.shell disable-extension-version-validation falseI'm hoping the dev picks up the PR to add support for 43 as it works fine
I just gave it a try, and everything seems working fine. Please add support for Gnome 43~44! 🥺
@XiaoPanPanKevinPan's suggestion does not work for me.
@android272 mine too also
Doesn't seem to work as well on GNOME 45.0. it had passed over 5 different versions of gnome already.. it is safe to assume that this project has been abandoned...

Given that the project has been abandoned, do anyone have the technical insight to understand the specific circumstances in Gnome 44+ that breaks this plugin, even with version checks disabled?
If I knew what to go for, then I'd be happy to fork the project and make the changes myself.
is the developer still alive? 🤔
why is there a need of Me in prefs.js
guys just try xfce its better than gnome
I was looking for this today and I found a new fork that work for gnome 45 here: https://github.com/mechtifs/wiggle
