Support for 4.0

The README states that it is working with 4.x but if run with 4.0, all you get is a stacktrace and no metrics. This patch makes it possible to run with 4.0.

I am curious as well. Would be good to get this in as well as #112. Fixes for both should be up on my fork. Although I would say that this one will be slightly troublesome to get in because it requires a separate tag/release for Cassandra 4.0.x.

@johndelcastillo Any thoughts?
