brainstorming new game play elements
ideas under consideration:
- powerups
- refill sun meter
- "air bomb" that clears all clouds/birds
- bubble to protect the plane (and help clearing clouds)
- water canon that squirts the clouds for you to clear them away
- giant vacuum that sucks up clouds, birds, obstacles
- more obstacles
- multi-bird formations to fly around
- kites
- helicopters
- falling debris
- tall skyscraper to fly over
- storm clouds to avoid (lightning, etc)
- missions
- flying through hoops
- collecting coins in a time limit
- leaderboard (tracking both cloud score and sun meter %)
- zen/sublime mode
- relaxation/practice mode
- only plane and clouds, no score/meter, no birds, no crashing
Power ups A score multiplier if you get many x amount of clouds in a row. Or possibly a cloud that is harder to hit worth more points.
Missions you could "save" a falling parachuters.
@EricHenry these are fantastic ideas! keep 'em coming!
@getify thanks! Cool game. Just had another idea.
Obstacles: Different types of clouds that stunt you in different ways? For example: a smog/gas cloud that slows down your plain. Or another type of cloud that makes you fall faster.
ahh, interesting too. someone else mentioned storm clouds with lightning that you have to avoid or it "stuns" your plane for a brief moment. :)
another idea: some sort of swirling storm cloud (almost like a tornado) that throws your plane suddenly up or suddenly down unexpectedly.
I like that idea! Another type of cloud could be one that eliminates your power-ups or one power up.
+1
poison gas cloud
Mission:
- Start at some time limit 'x', maybe 10 seconds, collect clouds or fly through rings to increase time. If time reaches 0.0, game over.
might be similar to your coin collecting idea.
:+1:
what about?
- rewards (like pilot medals, etc)
- achievements (like x many clouds in a row)
and maybe a paired head-to-head mode where two players get the same game (clouds, birds, etc), and each sees a faint overlay of the other, and they're flying at the same time competing for the most clouds, etc.
