Custom Overlay

I added a 'custom overlay'. Basically I just lifted the code that was provided here and threw a react wrapper around it. This was something I needed personally but I thought I would try to contribute it back upstream for anyone else that might find it useful. Obviously, I'm open to any suggestions.
