Error when working with edit-with-emacs chrome extension

I always see this error message when trying to edit gmail in emacs with edit-with-emacs chrome extension:

error in process filter: if: Wrong type argument: stringp, nil error in process filter: Wrong type argument: stringp, nil

Do you understand why?
