I tried to look in other issues, docs, discussion but did not find anything relevant. I think that this could be of general use and I'm surprised that up to now nobody seems have asked for it. Could you add few options in the configuration screen (one set for keys coming from keyboard and another identical for keys coming from serial port)?

CR-off -> as it is now CR-on -> every time a CR is received it adds a NewLine

NL-off -> as it is now NL-on -> every time a NL is received it adds a Return

I looked a bit and maybe I could hard-code it, but I am not sure exactly where to touch and furthermore, this would mean to have a local modified copy of the library, that is not an optimal solution. If you think that adding options to the configuration is not a good idea for some reason, another, less universal solution, could be to implement some switch that can be selected from the .ino application (eg. AnsiTerminal.ino) when the terminal is first open.
