Automatically Scan on Interval
Automatically scan on a user based interval, such as hourly.
I use Sonarr for full automation downloading anime, but Taiga is unable to detect the changes to network drives in realtime. This means that if I turn on my PC in the morning and off at night, anything downloaded during the day still appears to be unavailable until the next manual scan.
As media is downloaded automatically, I am usually not aware that I have more episodes and thus need to perform another scan, and I imagine this is the case for many other users who automate media downloading with Sonarr.
Thanks again for your work on this fantastic tool, it makes keeping track of what I've watched a LOT easier than doing it manually :)
Taiga actually does automatically scan your folders every 30 minutes, but:
- There's no setting to change the interval.
- It only works if you have the real-time monitor option ~enabled~ disabled.
- It does a "quick" scan, meaning it only scans individual anime folders rather than your entire library folders.
Might be a good idea to make this more apparent by adding relevant options to Settings → Library → Folders.
I thought I had experienced occasions where this isn't the case, but for the most part I don't keep my PC on for long period anymore, so I was uncertain.
The past couple of days, I've kept it on overnight, and I've been able to witness this again.
- I am halfway through a series
- A new episode was downloaded to the tracked folder 9 hours ago
- Real-time monitor is enabled
The new episode had not been detected by Taiga over the course of 9 hours, but as soon as I performed a manual scan it was detected. The folder storing the show is on a network location that is mapped to a drive letter.
