Does this mean e.g. ^ going to the parent directory, even if it's at the directory that direx originally opened?

In other words if I'm at /home/dan/Documents/stuff.org and I use C-x C-j to launch direx, right now I visit /home/dan/Documents and I can't easily browse /home/dan from here. Is this issue proposing that ^ can get me from /home/dan/Documents to /home/dan even though /home/dan/Documents was the directory I originally opened in direx?
