hey, I've been using qimgv for quite some time now and I always feel like a certain file sorting is missing. I come from Windows Image Viewer and by default it sorts files by how the files are sorted in the folder.

For example I have a folder and the files are A B C D when I open A and go to the next, it would open B and so on and when the order would be B A D C and I would open B it would go to A next and so on. In the first case for example it was sorted after name and in the second after creation date.

My reasoning is that I don't need to change the file sorting for every folder I want to use a different sorting for and qimgv would just open the files like the windows folder sorting was set to. I find this very handy and I miss it greatly and I wonder if it was possible to implement in qimgv too

hi This could be a bit tricky because explorer has more sorting methods (i think). Not sure if any of 3rd party imageviewers even implement that. But yeah i'll look into it after the next release

Meanwhile v0.9 will have an option to remember sorting mode per-directory so it'll be a bit less of a pain. For example you'll be able to permanently set sort by newest for Downloads folder etc etc

It'll also a have directory tree & bookmarks in folderview, if you use that
