Sorry, I hate to be the first issue for you.

Installed fine, however clicking the Redis icon in the System Preferences pane yields "Could not load Redis preference pane.". The first time I clicked it, it mentioned something about not being compatible with Intel Macs.

Hm..., I have a MacBook Pro (2.2 GHz Intel Core i7) with Mac OSXLion (10.7.4) with which I compiled and install the pane.

It works great for me. Can you uninstall it and try to reinstall it?

Preferences Error You can’t open Redis preferences because it doesn’t work on an Intel-based Mac.

Macbook Pro 15", mid 2010, OS X 10.8.2, Intel Core i7.

Tried using precompiled prefpane, and tried compiling by myself, same result.

The hell?..

Same problem. First I got the “You can’t open Redis preferences because it doesn’t work on an Intel-based Mac.” error, then “Could not load Redis preference pane.”

MacBook Pro 13", OSX 10.8.2, Intel Core 2 Duo.
