I'd like to potentially expand on the project but without a license I run the risk of not being able to modify or use it as freely as I'd like to.

Would you be able to put a MIT license out for this project?

Will GNU GPLv3 work for you?

We do not provide any maintainability with this source code, and want it to be as open as possible.

Otherwise, you are free to modify and use parts of the code under MIT license.

I'm not sure if it's possible to run it this way, please keep us updated.
