Layout improvement: compacter stats

The new stats are great! But they do take op a lot of space, because of the rows. See the image below:

Perhaps it would be better to display the stats horizontally, below the project description? Maybe with some icons etc, so it would be just 1 line (or 2 lines: 1 for downloads, 1 for github stats)

This way, the current version is more directly visible.

Or badges, similar to http://shields.io/

And while we are at this, why not run number_format on the stats
