Here's what typora currently does, and it looks great.

And after its been clicked on:

I'll leave it to you about whether you'd like to add these as separate tickets, but bolds, italics, code, pretty much everything works the same way (Typora doesn't show asterisks for bolds, unless you click that word). Its basically a WYSIWYG markdown editor, that when you click something, it reveals your actual markdown.

What about a new "Formatting" option in the "Auto Preview" menu which would preview headings, links, bold, italics, etc?

That would be perfect. Abricotine already is doing most of this work, this would basically be a mode that only shows the markdown characters when that word or phrase is clicked.

In my opinion, this is a strength of Abricotine, that the Markdown formattings are displayed as Markdown, and at the same time, the formattings are made visible in the WYSIWYG way, so that you don’t have to switch between editor and preview or show both of them side by side.

Anyway, an option to switch that off might be useful for those users which don’t like it.

I think that with this feature Abricotine would be a serious competitor of Typora for the people that like it the Typora's way.
