Discussion: Material You Integration
An Example of dialog along with AppBar and FAB
PS : Material you is different from Dynamic Theming
We should probably wait for the Material You theme to be included in a stable material components release. That said, we'll probably switch to this eventually.

Yea it's beta already
@Hacker437 @alexbakker It looks like 'material-components-android' has Material 3 out of beta and is in version 1.5. They even have a beta 1.6 available too. Is this something that can be looked at then?
@ZachTheDev Yes, I hope to have some time to look at this soon.
I just played around a bit with the latest alpha version of material components, and this doesn't really appear to be ready for prime time yet. There are still some things missing, like the new switches, preference layout, and more. Let's wait and see what the next versions bring.
@alexbakker Sure
They recently released Version 1.6.0 https://github.com/material-components/material-components-android/releases/tag/1.6.0
I would like to vouch for this.
@alexbakker To chime in, i was recently thinking about implementing a bottom-bar instead of the current topbar. I dont think it will clash with material you, and might look good.
Is this something i should give a try or do you want to stick to the current layout?

(Sorry, it's a bit offtopic but i thought it would still fit in this ticket)
@newhinton We've experimented with a bottom bar before, but ended up disliking the look of it and dropping the idea. Perhaps it'll look better once we've switched to Material You, so I suggest we try again then, but I can't make any promises.
Is it possible to have news? Please :)
Patiently waiting for this.
Any updates on the implementation of Material You (MD3) ?
For everyone wondering; after a long process we finally merged our material-3 branch to master and expecting a beta release today. Here are some previews:
