[BUG] Prohibit Claude Code from modifying ~/.claude.json

Claude Code just deleted ~/.claude.json when I asked it to add some MCP servers to itself.

I don't really have the energy to add more details to this issue, as I now need to recreate my ~/.claude.json file.

I have had this a couple of times, to the extent I keep a .claude.json.bak to copy over if it gets corrupted...

could it maybe move to .bak_$n in ~/.claude or similiar?
