Review TODOs in FFI codebase

There are many TODOs in the ffi directory related to our FFI code. These TODOs should each be reviewed and either discarded or addressed. This will be a arduous undertaking and isn't pressing, so the issue has been marked as low priority for the time being.

I will slowly address this stuff too. Slowly because, no money and no papers means the only reason I’ll do this is for my resume, and I don’t have a lot of time for free, resume-only work. At the same time, I’d like to claim as much ownership as possible over this and I do actually want to do it. Also, relearning Haskell will be nice.
