PS3 Won't boot after running Webman Mod 1.47.32
Hi
Great tool that I've used previously and really liked so thank you for making this
I have a CECHG03 that was running Rebug 4.86 LITE and installed Webman Mod Full Edition
PS3 rebooted fine and I then setup the auto fan control, clicking reboot here on dashboard
The PS3 will no longer boot to XMB or recovery mode, just get the green light with no controller sync
Is there anyway to save the PS3?
Thanks
Try powering off using the switch behind the console.
Then try to enter to recovery pressing On until you hear 2 beeps. Entering to Recovery will delete the boot_plugins.txt and the console should boot to XMB if there are not other issues.
If you manage to enter to Recovery check database and file system.
Your console is a fat model with NAND. Unfortunately only NOR models can be unbricked formatting the HDD. The NAND models require a hardware flasher.
Also check if booting starts the FTP server or web server. If they work you can use them to delete boot_plugins.txt
Thanks aldo
I can't get into recovery at all
How can I tell of the FTP or web server has started?
Thanks again
From a PC enter http://ip-address-of-your-ps3 (e.g. http://192.168.1.123)
Use a FTP Client like FileZilla to access the ip address of the PS3
Thanks, will try this
The PS3 had started the webserver so managed to to delete boot_plugins.txt
Restarted through the Webman command and booted to XMB fine. Tried to uninstall Webman Mod and the system froze again with screen glitches this time and now won't boot again
Thinking it's a possible GPU fault maybe? Have managed to get it to boot a couple of times but won't last long before glitches and freezes again
Try booting without webMAN MOD. If the glitches disappear, check if the issue happens also with an older release.
If possible, try reinstalling your FW again.
It's back to not booting into either recovery or XMB. occasionally get a 576P signal bit nothing more
It looks like a hardware failure. In psx-place's forum there are many hardware experts that could offer a good advice.
Thanks very much, appreciate your help
