When I created the fork, it was because Kai Liu had stopped updating his patches. A lot of time has passed since then, but the main development of Notepad2 seems stalled (?).

If anyone has C/C++ knowledge and is able to help cleaning up our custom patches, having them as clear ones, fixing issues etc, please let me know.

Ideally, we should have an upstream repository but last time I mentioned that to Florian he wasn't interested in using a repository. This makes things harder to maintain.

Kai Liu told me last year that he intends to update his patches and add in new features. I told him about this repo, but he said he preferred to do it himself. I can try reaching out to him again to see if he'd be willing to reconsider. I can also ask him if he knows the ETA on the source code release of Notepad2 v5.

That's bad news. I don't get why people don't understand the benefits of a source code management system. Let alone their willingness to reinvent the wheel... But hey, that's the beauty and the curse of open source I guess.
