Compatibility with Symfony 4 and Symfony Flex recipes

Open chiqui3d opened this issue 8 years ago • 7 comments

Hello my request is about version 4 of symfony and that it has compatibility with recipes, and thus create a recipe to create all dependencies on the configurations.

In addition to being able to remove assetic and make use of webpack or that we want to use.

Is it possible, are you considering this?

This is an absolute must-have, but it require plenty of work to be symfony4 compliant. We target a stable 3.0 version of Victoire this summer, and to work on sf4 compatibility this fall for a release at the end of the year.

@paulandrieux Do you have any update on this regarding the stable 3.0 version and a rough roadmap for the Symfony 4 compatibility? I want to evaluate Victoire for a new project starting next year and this is an important feature for me.

Thank you for your interest @jneijt, we're always glad to see interests abouts Victoire. We would love to tell you that Victoire will be compatible with Symfony4 but it would be a lie. Like @paulandrieux told in April, there is a huge amount of work to go to the next step and we have already too much to do.

If someone believes (like we do) in this project and is interested to help, do not hesitate to join because we are a small team and unfortunately, we're not able to go speed enough to make this project evolve like we would like.

To avoid mixing discussion between Symfony 4 and Symfony Flex, please go to #1093 to discuss about Flex.

Hello, This project seems very interesting (which is also French and from my department 😄).

Is Symfony4 Compatibility always in thinking thus webpack-encore? Because assetic is deprecated now.

Thank you @kl3sk ❤️

Actually, moving from assetic to webpack is a must have but unfortunately, I don't have time for this. However, if someone starts a work on this, I couldn't stop me to help of course ;)

@lenybernard I didn't test Vistoire for now (may be due to the big setup documentation). But Your approach is very cleaver, the way to have a CMS with the extendability of Symfony is very interesting (as implementing it in a Symfony way). When I found time I have a look to it and why not (if not done until) to Encore.

I have a lot of questions about Victoire but i'll ask them later in an appropriate place and time.

An update to Symfony4 and Encore is a great feature I think.
