Upstream source for Debian package

Open cygnusb opened this issue 9 years ago • 6 comments

I am the Debian Maintainer of the openvpn-auth-radius Plugin. Since the current upstream seems to be completely dead, I would like to ask, if we could switch to this repository as the new upstream source. Would this be ok for you? If yes I have question about the current state:

  • are you planning to do releases, so I can use these as a base for the Debian package?
  • is the current master branch compatible with the openvpn upstream version or does the upstream version needs to be patched?

The last question refers to this post

Hello! I'm completely OK with this but I'm not sure about the stability of this fork. Right now I'm using it on some production servers and haven't had any issues so far but it's been only one week. The plugin works fine with unpatched OpenVPN even if configured to use deferred functions from patched version. I'm not sure about releases but I probably will tag it if nothing bad happens in next 1-2 weeks.

I did not have yet time to switch the Debian package to the new upstream source. Sorry. Will try to do it soon.

@cygnusb, I'd like to see this upstream switch happen sooner than later :) Please let me know if you need help on the Debian side.

If we want this to be the authoritative fork, it would be nice to bring in the work of other folks. To that end, I’d like to create a GitHub org and ensure at least one other maintainer has access: #12
