Hi there -- thank you for this little nugget! I added it to HA via HACS and then added the resource manually ("/hacsfiles/lovelace-media-art-background/media-art-background.js") via the HA lovelace resource config page. I added the extra few lines to the top of my dashboard config and cleared all browser cache as well. But the media art background only shows when I'm on the lovelace page and then refresh the page. When I switch to a different page and then come back to the dashboard, it shows the default background again, until I hit the browser refresh again.

Interesting. What browser are you using? Anything in your browser console?

I can confirm seeing the same.

When you have a dashboard set with the media art background settings set, the only time you can see it is if you're on the dashboard for the first time. So if you open up from the loading screen or just refresh the page, you get the background image. However, when you at any point navigated from one dashboard and then to the other with the background set up, it never pops up.

I get this on both Firefox 88 and Chrome WebView. I have looked in the console but I can't find any errors or warnings about that. It seems to silently fail.
