I think we should all donate to the author as we all know that Apple asks for honestly unjustified 100 $ to keep extension in the store.

That said, it would be amazing to have the extension updated for the new youtube. 💙

Google has banned me from updating the extension for unspecified reasons, if I submit an update they threaten to delete my Google account, consider this project dead..sorry

That's a shame. We can still use the old version of youtube as there was nothing wrong with it. Sad to hear this though as youtube comments are on many levels worse than reddit.

Is there a way to turn it into a TamperMonkey script? That'd make updating it and browser compatibility a lot easier.

I slapped something together for the new layout on my fork: https://github.com/KoffeinFlummi/alientube

I made some style adjustments for the new night mode, but haven't done any testing outside of Chrome. YMMV.

@KoffeinFlummi it works in Firefox too thanks man. Only problem is I am unable to sign it anymore but works with debug on.

@KoffeinFlummi Can you please provide us non-Unix users with compiled extension folder, so we can import it into Chrome?

That's all 3 built folders. As i said, I haven't done any testing outside of Chrome and don't have time at the moment to fix any issues that might be present, so if you find an issue, you'll have to wait for a bit or submit a pull request.

The Safari.safariextension is treated as a folder for me for some reason so I can't import it. 😞

@nikitavoloboev Load the Safari.safariextension folder with Develop > Show Extension Builder in Safari.

Works fine for me, thanks a lot @KoffeinFlummi! I've had to constantly switch back to the old youtube layout for it to work for over a month.

Now in case any other tech noob like me happens to come across this thread is search of a fix for their favorite extension, do the following (Windows, Chrome): Download KoffeinFlummi's chrome folder. Unzip it. Then follow the instructions on this page to install it (loud video autoplays).

@KoffeinFlummi Is there any way you can upload this to the Chrome extension store? I'm super happy this extension was forked to work with the new YouTube update, but I would love if there were any way to remove the warning I get every time I open Chrome since I have an extension installed that isn't from the Chrome store. And it seems there is no way to disable this warning while using a third-party extension.

@jeremejevs I kept pushing small updates and google requires you to increment the version number for each patch
