UWP Support for Dell Latitude 7230 Rugged Extreme Tablet
Summarize your device feedback Hello, As I understood from #90, the Dell Latitude Rugged Extreme Tablets 7220 (UWP) has been removed from the recommended devices and its new version (7230) is not planned to become a supported device. I just wanted to make make sure and check with your team if the 7230 may become a supported device in the future. If it is not planned at the moment, perhaps may be contact your sales to find an a way to support you in order to make it happen ?
At the moment, the 7230 tablet does not support:
- Flashlight (as mentioned in the other ticket)
- Ground Plane (we get a "The Ground Plane feature requires anchors to be available on the current platform" error message). I suppose mid-Air anchors are not supported either in this case although I did not test it.
Business Impact We have current and potential professional customers representing hundreds of users of have specifically targeted this device for their use-case. Plane detection was working on this device with Qualcomm's Wikitude AR SDK.

Hey @tsoen, I will transform this ticket into a general device support request for anyone else who might be interested in this device. Can you please reach out to [email protected] and refer this ticket? I will be able to connect you with our PM and sales teams to further discuss.
As communicated in Engine 10.25 release notes support for VISLAM, part of Vuforia’s Fusion tracking system, will be removed in a future version of Engine. VISLAM is the technology block providing Ground Plane functionality on UWP tablets. As a consequence we are also not planning to expand device support and Ground Plane will stop working on currently supported devices once apps are built against new versions of Engine SDK.
